The business
A particular territory for wines with great personality. The wines of Le Pignole express an absolutely unique personality. This is the result of the influence of several equally determinant elements. In the first place, the vines of the Pignole sink their roots into a soil whose structure unites its characteristics of volcanic origin with the presence of marine sediments, limestone and basalt (here it is called Sasso Moro - the black rock). Therefore man's work has always been to carefully give the maxim expression to this terrain, applying the most suitable cultivation techniques and the maximum respect for the transformation in the wine cellar. Finally, cloning and varietal research: in order to reproduce the characteristics of the older grapes, grafts (or rather the shoots) of the oldest vines have been recuperated and re-grafted onto younger trunks. In addition to the traditional vines, other varieties have been introduced in order to obtain important wines with great prestige.
